The Opportunity

We know that better health leads to better performance and better results. So, if the opportunity exists to improve in all areas – in our personal lives and professional commitments – we should take it.

Research supports what many leaders know: healthy people think, adapt and perform better. Making small improvements in the physical and mental performance of employees, management and the leadership team can have a powerful impact on personal health and bottom-line results.

Focusing on sleep, nutrition, movement, energy and thinking opens the door to achieving at a higher level in life and in work. These key factors contribute to healthier, more resilient and higher achieving personal lives and work places. Any person who knows how to dream set, build better habits and shape their own environment is well-prepared to succeed and perform.

How do we know that physical and mental health challenges are undermining our ability to perform at higher levels in all areas of life? Consider these facts:

•    20% of our population accessed the medical system last year because of a mental health related issue
•    70% of the diseases in the developed world are caused by stress
•    58% of the population is overweight or obese

The costs of ill-health are high – to the economy, to our work performance, to our relationships, to our self-esteem and to our overall well being.

If small changes in thinking and habits can build us up – and if we can then help our colleagues and team members achieve their dreams and improve their performance –

why wouldn’t we embrace the opportunity?

The Corporate Olympian Program

Health and Performance training for business leaders

The science behind Olympic success can help people succeed in the business world.

In high performance business situations, the human mind and body have to work together for ultimate results. Dr. Greg Wells, a scientist who specializes in extreme human physiology, draws the parallels between elite athletes and top executives to help business leaders perform at the highest level, even when under the most extreme circumstances.

Olympic athletes train and compete at the highest levels on a consistent basis over many years. They face the pressures and stresses of setbacks, change, travel, competition, and performance on demand, and still find a way to excel. These are the same challenges that are faced by business people, and the tools and techniques that Olympians use can be applied by anyone at any time to ensure success.

In this Program, Dr. Greg Wells and the Wells Group Team helps participants apply the science behind world-class athletes to improve the health and performance of people in the business world.

Corporate Olympian participants learn how to:

•    go beyond goal setting to build and act upon dreams
•    get in a high performance zone and stay there
•    eat better to improve concentration and mental performance
•    move better to build physical and mental fitness and stamina
•    think better and improve creativity, problem solving, concentration and memory
•    perform better by recovering and regenerating after periods of stress

We can always be better. We can achieve more. Together, we can make it happen.

Building mental and physical health and wellbeing for better academic performance.

Educators know that healthy students learn better and perform better. Research has backed this up, and has demonstrated that by making small improvements in the physical and mental health, students, teachers and academic leaders can significantly improve achievement, health and ultimately on human potential.

However, we are faced with tremendous health challenges that affect people of all ages. 20% of our population accessed the medical system last year because of a mental health related issue. 70% of the diseases in the developed world are caused by stress. 58% of the Canadian population are overweight or obese. The World Health Organization identified physical inactivity as the #1 health challenge for people in all parts of the world except Africa. These health issues are particularly relevant in schools and present challenges for faculty, staff and students alike.

In this powerful program, participants learn simple, scientific strategies to sleep soundly, eat smarter, move more and think clearly which can help to dramatically improve health and enhance learning. Drawing on scientific research and practical experience, The Wells Group team shows students, teachers and leaders how they can perform to their potential.

Academic Health and Wellbeing Program participants learn how to:

•    Get in a high performance zone and stay there
•    Eat smarter to improve concentration and mental performance
•    Move strategically to enhance learning and creativity
•    Think clearly to improve creativity, problem solving and memory
•    Perform better by recovering and regenerating after periods of stress
